Introducing Artie! This lanky yet adorable baby came to us from our friends at Boston Animal Care and Control after being found as a stray. Many thanks to longtime PLR foster Melissa and our very own alum Maggie for busting this guy out of the shelter for his stray hold and then to amazing puppy foster Jen and family for giving this little one a place to stretch those long legs! Baby Artie is a lover- he loves ALL beings, big and small alike, human, furry or feathered!! He is all legs and an old soul who loves nothing more than to lounge in the sunshine after a quick jog around the backyard. On especially hot days, this silly boy is learning that the garden hose makes a wicked fun toy! He can be found bouncing around the backyard chasing the sprinkles. In true pittie fashion, though, water is only fun from a hose, not so much from rain clouds and Artie does everything in his power to avoid raindrops   This youngster is eager to please and quick to learn especially if treats are involved, and sleeps perfectly in his crate at night (~6hours). He sees his crate as a safe place and is happy to nap in there during the day but his favorite place to be is on a comfy couch, or giant dog bed, snuggled right next to his humans! Artie is practically perfect in every way and is eager to find a loving family of his own. Before doing so, this sweet boy needs an eye surgery to remove what is likely a congenital abnormal growth of tissue on one of his eyes. While it doesn’t seem to be causing him discomfort, it could lead to irritation or even vision problems if left untreated.

We have encountered quite a few medical pups recently- Artie with his eye surgery, our sweet senior Kane with his kidney issues and our baby Baloo with his hospitalization for parvo. As a 510c3 non-profit rescue, we rely solely on donations to provide top notch veterinary care to all animals in our rescue, and we never turn away a dog who needs our help.
