Meet Miss Portia! This perfectly proportioned potato of a pittie came to us from our friends at Boston Animal Care and Control after being found as a stray. Massive thank you to long term (70+ fosters!) PittieLove supporters and fosters Tom and Michelle for wasting no time
getting
this pretty girl out of the shelter. This precious lady’s body and mannerisms tell a story of a very neglectful life before coming into our care. Her body shows a life of being bred many many times while her propensity to pancake herself as flat to the ground as caninely possible alludes to less than desirable treatment from humans. Rest assured, from here on out this sweet soul will know nothing but love and luxury. Despite her
initial
hesitancy of strangers, she is super quick to warm up and knows no limits to the amount of love she has to give. Portia is a low key house hippo, preferring snuggles or ambling behind her people over rigorous activity. She gets along well with her four legged foster brothers but would also thrive in a home where she could be the sole recipient of all the love you have to give. We suspect her ride in the back of the Animal Control van was one of her only experiences in a vehicle and for this reason she
has gotten ill
while traveling and seems reluctant to ride in a car
.
She will need to build her confidence and per her foster family, she has made great strides already.
Because of her size, she’s a big boned beauty, Portia will be looking to spend her forever in a home without little two legged siblings
, older children should be fine.
