Meet Hazel! This plus-size pumpkin-headed beauty came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray and she is SPECTACULAR!!! Hazel is made of sugar and spice and everything nice and is a pro at making fast friends. We love watching humans fall in love with her wherever she goes. With her soft toffee colored coat and cinnamon speckled polka dot paws, Hazel is a stunner. She is underweight at 75 pounds, so we would officially classify this head-turning piece of apple crisp as “big-boned”, though your lap is still her favorite place to be.

It’s simple – Hazel is a really nice dog. And looking into her hazel eyes makes you feel as warm as a hazelnut crème coffee on a crisp fall morning. Hazel loves to snuggle and be close to her humans. She’s down for a romp around the backyard and is great at fetch. She’ll happily hop into the car for a little leaf peeping. But nestling in to watch a movie on the couch might be her favorite activity. We wonder is she was a professional cuddler in a past life. Hazel can be timid of new situations the first time around, but quickly gains confidence and does super terrific with consistency. She needs someone who will patiently show her the ropes and let her go at her own pace. She has done well in her foster home with dogs and cats and we can’t wait for her to have a family all her own and a house to call home. Due to her size, young age, and lack of history, older kids would be best for delicious slice of sweet potato pie.
