Meet Sophia, one of our Golden Girls puppies! These amazing pups were born into our rescue days after Betty White’s birthday. Based on the timing, and the real Betty White’s love for animals, we had to affectionately name mama dog after the great Betty White. And so the Golden Girls litter was born on January 21, 2022 after a C-section and one loooong night. Sophia is a sweetheart and is more of a watch and wait kind of pup…she likes to assess every new situation and is gaining confidence day-by-day. She absolutely loves rolling in the grass. In fact, she’s a gal who is one with nature and has a super good nose. She is wonderful with the resident cat in her foster home; she usually goes for a few sniffs and then ignores. And she loves anything that makes crackle sounds and loves toys. Sophia has the most adorable markings! It’s like she’s wearing black stretchy pants (and 2 charming black spots on her side). Sophia is extremely food motivated and getting the hang of basic commands (we’d consider her an amateur professional with the “sit” command). She is crate trained and sleeps through the whole night with no accidents. She is a relativity vocal pup and has most definitely found her voice! And she loves, loves, loves human attention and wants to be part of the action at all times. Puppies are soooooo cute, and puppy breath is THE BEST! But puppies are a lot of work and take dedication, patience, love, training, and real commitment to turn them into amazing adults.
