Meet Ruby! This pink-ish gem came to us in need after her owner tragically passed away. She is a happy, snuggly girl that loves to greet everyone she meets with a wiggly body and a wagging tail. And like a proper little lady, she loves to throw her not-so-little body right into you to show her affection. She is excited to meet people, and knows how to use her “voice”, grumbling to communicate with 2-legged friends.

Ruby is an outgoing girl with the best mix of high and low energy levels, the perfect blend of easy-going playfulness and childlike joy. She loves to play, but Ruby is a couch potato at heart (with the BEST ears!). She tends to move at her own pace on walks, making sure to sniff and explore every square inch around her. Sometimes she lags behind if the sniffin’ is extra good, but she can also pick up the pace to do a slow jog if you’re running late for a conference call. Ruby loves toys with stuffing and squeakers. She doesn't always tear them apart immediately, but that is the ultimate fate. She also enjoys puzzle toys with treats inside, because, well, who doesn’t like treats?

Ruby is a sensitive girl that bonds well with whoever is showing her love and respect. And after being bounced around from home to home waaaaaay too many times, her next stop desperately needs to be her last stop…Ruby is looking for her real forever and is so deserving of finding true love and her own happily-ever-after. We think her perfect forever family is one where she is treated as a valuable member of the family, watching movies on the couch with her peeps, taking an afternoon stroll in the sunshine, and snuggling in bed on Saturday mornings. Also a family who will give her the time to decompress without pushing her too far, too soon. We promise, she is easy to love in return!

There are so many perks to adopting a mature adult pup. Ruby knows who she is and has a great ability to show her silly and loving side. She has done great in the house, without destroying the furniture or having accidents and she doesn't panic when left alone. She is an incredibly playful and happy girl, but still needs a family that understands that she is sensitive from having moved around from home to home. As with all dogs, she needs some time to truly trust her new family with stuff like touching her paws. And although she is always eager and excited to jump in the car, the ride itself isn't her favorite. She is still a little nervous at times and can whine or bark occasionally to communicate it.

Ruby is a sweet, sweet dog who has so much to offer. Her excitement of showing love and being loved in return is truly adorable. The way she throws her bum in the air with her head burrowing into you is the stuff dreams are made of. And when she jumps up with gusto for morning snuggles in bed, her head is right up on the pillows with you like a furry and endearing human. We LOVE her and think you will, too.  Due to her size and lack of history, older kids would be best for this joyful jewel.
