Meet Starfish! This 13-years young petite senior pitizen came to us after a change in her owner’s housing situation. Her former owner describes her as loving, quiet, and playful and we agree! Don’t let her age fool you – Starfish has a bounce to her step and acts much younger than her chronological age. She is a rockstar on leash and is adorably interested in sniffing the world. She’ll actually break into the cutest trot in between sniffs, lifting her legs like a show pony. Starfish is a rockstar on leash and is adorably interested in sniffing the world. Starfish loves squeaky toys and equally adores playing with them, de-squeaking them, and de-fluffing them. She loves food and will patiently wait for a treat, drooling up a storm before she takes it with the softest of lips. Starfish is a compact 50 lbs, LOVES people, and has all the wonderful attributes of a mature pup; she’s mellow, housebroken, dignified, and wouldn’t dream of chewing your shoes. She’s taken a lot of years to get this sweet and has honed her skills in giving and receiving love. This adorable sea star was sensitive to the stress of the shelter after being in a home for so long, and is taking some time to settle into her foster home. Starfish will settle right down and take a leisurely nap as long as you’re close, but separation presently creates some anxiety for her as she is acclimating to a different routine. Starfish loves, loves, loves to be close to her people. In fact, we think she would be happiest in a home where her family spent much of their time at home to nurture this bond. This senior gal has been great with dogs, but says no thanks to cats.
