MEET MARLEY! Marley is a very sweet boy who was surrendered by his previous owners because they decided they could not provide what he needed. He spent much of his 11 months at his previous home around teenagers and loved being part of the family but was often ignored or put aside. He was more of a show piece and was often put in his crate for “behavior” issues (not listening..he was only a baby!) instead of being taught properly. He would be left in a crate for long periods of time. After only a few short days with daily exercise and consistency, those “behavior” issues have now gone completely and he now behaves and listens much better. Exercise and consistency play an important role in his life. Marley loves to play with his foster siblings, a male and female Pit Bull. They chase each other around the yard and play tug. Marley loves to go for walks. He’s a very loving boy who also loves to give kisses and when the day is done, he loves to snuggle. He is a social boy who loves to be with people and gets along well with other dogs. He previously lived with two cats but was not properly trained on how to be with them so he would often chase them and try to play (this scared the cats). But he did sleep in his previous owner’s bed with one of those cats; they just drew a line down the middle of the bed. He does have a crate that he does go in; however, this was over used and abused by his previous owners and caused him some stress. It is now only used when absolutely necessary such as in the case no one will be home to supervise him (he has been known to eat socks) and for some training purposes. He knows commands like sit, stay, and down. Marley learns fast and is eager to please. He is so loving and playful. He will be a very loyal, loving companion to anyone who adopts him. Marley is a wonderful boy, he needs and deserves a forever home with a family who likes to go for walks/hikes and will spend time playing with him and teaching him. He’s a beautiful sweet boy with great potential! Adoption Restrictions: Mandatory home visit and reference checks. Will only adopt as an only dog or with a compatible dog of the opposite sex.
